My son is getting a lot of spam calls lately and it’s starting to get really annoying. I want to know how to block a number on iPhone so that he doesn't receive calls, messages, or FaceTime from that contact anymore. Is there a simple way to do it directly from recent calls or messages? Also, will the blocked person know they’ve been blocked? Any easy steps or tips would be super helpful!

You can quickly block a number on your iPhone directly from the Phone app by opening Recents, tapping the (i) icon next to the number, and selecting “Block Caller,” which immediately stops calls, messages, and FaceTime from that number. Another simple method is through Settings go to Phone, tap Blocked Contacts, and add a number or contact manually, giving you a central place to manage all blocked numbers and keep unwanted callers from reaching you.

Block via Settings

  1. Open Settings
  2. Scroll to Phone
  3. Tap Blocked Contacts
  4. Tap Add New and choose a contact

To quickly block a number on an iPhone, open the Phone app, go to Recents, tap the “i” next to the number, scroll down, and select “Block Caller.” You can also enable “Silence Unknown Callers” in Settings to automatically stop calls from unknown numbers and reduce unwanted interruptions.

You can also go to Settings > Phone > Blocked Contacts > Add New. This stops calls, messages, and FaceTime from that number, helping reduce spam and unwanted contact quickly.
