How to lock an Android App?

I’m trying to figure out how to lock an Android app so others can’t open it without permission. Is there a built-in feature that allows you to secure specific apps with a PIN, pattern, or fingerprint? Or do I need to use a third-party app for this? I’d appreciate a step-by-step explanation of the safest and easiest way to lock an app on Android.

Yeah, many Android phones have a built-in App Lock in Settings (usually under Security or Privacy)—just pick a PIN, pattern, or fingerprint; if your phone doesn’t have it, a trusted app-locker from the Play Store works fine too.

To lock an Android app, use built-in features like App Lock (available on some brands) or enable Screen Pinning in Settings > Security. You can also install trusted app-lock apps from the Play Store. Set a PIN, pattern, or fingerprint to prevent others from opening specific apps.

To lock an Android app, open Settings and look for App Lock (available on many phones like Samsung or Xiaomi). Enable it, choose the apps, and set a PIN, pattern, or fingerprint.

In order to lock an Android application, go to Settings and find App Lock (it is not available on all phones such as Samsung or Xiaomi). Turn it on, choose the apps and a PIN, pattern or fingerprint. In case of unavailability, get a reliable app locker on the Play Store and password protect it using a hard-to-crack password.

To lock an app on Android, open your phone’s Settings and look for App Lock or Privacy options (available on many devices). Enable App Lock and choose the apps you want to protect with a PIN, pattern, or fingerprint. You can also use third-party app lockers from Google Play Store if your phone doesn’t include this feature.

Many Android manufacturers, such as Samsung, Xiaomi, OnePlus, OPPO, and Realme, include an App Lock feature in their security or privacy settings. You can select specific apps and require a PIN, password, or fingerprint before they can be opened.

If your device does not have a built-in app lock feature, you can install a reputable app-locking application from the Google Play Store. These apps allow you to protect selected apps with a password, pattern, or biometric authentication.

Some Android devices offer secure environments such as Secure Folder or Private Space. You can move sensitive apps into these protected areas, where access requires additional authentication separate from the device lock screen.

Android's Screen Pinning feature locks the device to a single app until a PIN, pattern, or password is entered. This is useful when lending your phone to someone and wanting to restrict access to other apps.

Many Android devices support multiple user accounts or guest profiles. By creating a separate profile, you can limit which apps are available and keep personal apps inaccessible to other users of the device.
