My son uses my laptop for his homework, and he uses Google a lot for searching. How can I turn on the safe search feature to make sure he is safe online?

In order to enable SafeSearch in your browser, visit google.com, hit 'Settings' at the bottom right, choose 'Search settings', and then select 'Filter' to block explicit results. If you want, you can also do this in the Google app by tapping your profile picture > Settings > SafeSearch > Filter.

To turn on Safe Search in a browser, open your search engine settings (Google, Bing, or others). Enable SafeSearch to filter explicit results. Save the changes and, if available, lock SafeSearch with your account. This helps block inappropriate images, videos, and websites during searches.

Let's learn how to turn on Safe Search in your browser:
  • Google: Go to Google.com, click Settings > SafeSearch, and turn on Filter explicit results, then save.
  • Bing: Visit Bing.com > Settings > SafeSearch, choose Strict or Moderate, and save.
  • Yahoo: Open Yahoo Search Settings, enable SafeSearch (Strict), and apply changes.
You can also lock SafeSearch through parental controls or a family safety app for stronger protection.

To turn on SafeSearch in your browser, open your preferred search engine and go to its settings page. For Google, visit Google.com, click Settings at the bottom, select Search settings, turn on SafeSearch filter, and save. For Bing, go to Settings → SafeSearch, choose Strict or Moderate, and save. If you use Yahoo, open Settings → SafeSearch and enable the filter. SafeSearch must be turned on separately for each browser or account.
