I’m looking for a way to block YouTube from an iPad to make it safer for my child. Is it possible to completely restrict the YouTube app and website using Screen Time settings? Can this be done without deleting the app permanently? I’d appreciate simple step-by-step guidance on how parents can block or limit YouTube access effectively on an iPad.

You can block YouTube on an iPad using Screen Time:
  1. Open Settings → Screen Time
  2. Tap Content & Privacy Restrictions and turn it On
  3. Tap Allowed Apps or Content Restrictions → Web Content
  4. Block YouTube by disabling the app or limiting access to only approved websites

To block YouTube on an iPad, go to Settings > Screen Time, turn it on, and set an App Limit for YouTube under Entertainment (you can set it to 1 minute to effectively block it). To fully block it, go to Content & Privacy Restrictions > Allowed Apps and turn off YouTube, or delete the app and prevent reinstallation under App Store restrictions. You can also set a Screen Time passcode to stop changes.

You can block YouTube on an iPad using Screen Time:
  1. Go to Settings > Screen Time.
  2. Tap Content & Privacy Restrictions and turn it on.
  3. Select App Store, Media, Web & Games > Apps.
  4. Set the age rating to block YouTube (or delete the app and restrict reinstalling).

To block YouTube on an iPad, open Settings and tap Screen Time. Select App Limits, choose Entertainment, and set a limit for YouTube. You can also go to Content & Privacy Restrictions > Allowed Apps to restrict access, or block youtube.com through Content Restrictions and Safari settings for safer browsing.

Here are the steps to block YouTube on an iPad:

  • Open Settings.
  • Tap Screen Time.
  • Select Content & Privacy Restrictions and turn it on.
  • Tap App Limits > Add Limit.
  • Choose Entertainment and select YouTube.
  • Set a time limit and create a passcode.
  • You can also block youtube.com under Content Restrictions > Web Content.
