I’m looking to delete my Telegram account completely but I’m not sure how to do it safely. I want to make sure all my messages, contacts, and data are removed without leaving anything behind. Is there an easy step-by-step way to delete a Telegram account, either from the app or the website? Also, are there any things I should be aware of before permanently deleting it? Any tips would be really appreciated!

You’ll need to go to the Telegram account deletion page online, enter your number, confirm the code, and delete it from there since it’s not possible directly in the app; just remember it wipes everything permanently and you can’t recover chats or contacts later, so back up anything important first.

In order to permanently deactivate your Telegram account, you will need to visit the Telegram account deletion page whereupon you will enter your phone number with the country code included. Afterward, you will receive a verification code to your Telegram app which needs to be input before clicking the Delete Account button. You will be asked to confirm this action. Remember that doing so will completely wipe out all your chats, contacts, and data from Telegram.
