How to reset Apple ID password if I forgot it?

I’m having trouble accessing my Apple ID because I forgot the password. I’ve tried a couple of guesses but don’t want to lock myself out completely. What’s the easiest and safest way to reset Apple ID password? Also, does it require access to my registered email or phone number, or are there other recovery options available? Any step-by-step help or tips would be really appreciated!

Reset on iPhone or iPad

  1. Open Settings
  2. Tap your name (Apple ID)
  3. Go to Sign-In & Security
  4. Tap Change Password
  5. Enter your device passcode
  6. Set a new password

  • Go to the Apple ID account page
  • Click Forgot Apple ID or password
  • Enter your Apple ID (email)
  • Follow the prompts (email, phone number, or security questions)
  • Create a new password

If you forgot your Apple ID password, there are several ways to reset it depending on what you can access. The easiest method is directly on your iPhone or iPad if you’re signed in just go to Settings, tap your name, select Sign-In & Security, and choose Change Password to create a new one using your device passcode. If you don’t have access to your device, you can visit the Apple ID account page from any browser, click “Forgot Apple ID or password,” and follow the prompts to verify your identity via email, phone number, or security questions. Another option is to use a borrowed Apple device and the Apple Support app to reset your password. If none of these options work, you can start Account Recovery through the Apple ID account page, where Apple will verify your identity over time and help you regain access to your account.

  • Go to the Apple ID account page
  • Choose Account Recovery
  • Enter your Apple ID and phone number
  • Wait for Apple to verify your identity (may take days)
  • Follow instructions sent to you to reset your password

To reset your Apple ID password, go to the Apple ID account page and click “Forgot Apple ID or password.” Enter your email, follow verification steps (like OTP, security questions, or trusted device), and create a new password. You can also reset it directly on your iPhone by going to Settings, tapping your name, then selecting “Password & Security” and “Change Password.”

To reset your Apple ID password, go to iforgot.apple.com and enter your email. Follow the prompts to verify your identity using your phone number, email, or security questions.
You can also reset it from your iPhone via Settings > [your name] > Password & Security > Change Password. Use a strong new password and enable two-factor authentication for better security.
