How to use Skype for calls and messaging?

I’m new to Skype and trying to understand how it works. I want to use it for video calls, voice calls, and chatting with friends or family. How do I set up an account, add contacts, and start a call? Also, are there any useful features or tips I should know as a beginner? Any simple guidance would really help!

Using Skype is pretty simple. I’ve used it a few times for quick calls. Just install the app or open it in your browser, sign in with your Microsoft account, and add contacts by searching their name or Skype ID. To message, open a chat and type your text, and for calls, just hit the audio or video call button; it works smoothly as long as your internet connection is stable. But it was discontinued on May 5, 2025, so I don't think you can use it.

To use Skype for calls and messaging, follow these steps:

1. Download and install Skype from the official website.
2. Create an account or sign in with an existing one.
3. Add contacts and start a conversation.
4. Make voice or video calls by clicking the phone or camera icon.
5. Use the chat box for instant messaging.
