I’ve been hearing about an app called BeReal that a lot of kids are using, but I’m not sure what it really is. Can someone explain what BeReal is, how it works, and whether it’s safe for kids or teens? I’d also love to know if parents should be aware of anything before letting their children use it.

BeReal is a photo-sharing app where users post a real, unfiltered picture once a day at a random time. It’s meant to be more authentic than other social media. It’s generally okay for teens (13+), but parents should be aware of privacy risks like location sharing and limited content moderation. Supervision is recommended for safe use.

BeReal is a photo-sharing social media app that prompts users once daily to post an unfiltered, dual-camera photo within a two-minute window to encourage authenticity. While it lacks ads and follower counts, risks include public sharing, involuntary location tracking, and potential anxiety. Generally, it is considered safe for kids aged 13+ with strict supervision.

BeReal is a social media app that asks users to post a real-time photo once a day without filters. It can be okay for kids, but since it involves sharing photos and location-based timing, parents should monitor usage and ensure privacy settings are used properly.

BeReal is a social media application that allows users to share one photo per day, which they take without any filters and at a random time to share what they are actually doing at that time. It involves the use of both the front and back cameras and also restricts the posting to a short period of time. It may be permissible when it comes to children who are 13 years and above but they need parental guidance. It also has threats such as sharing personal moments, privacy and potential inappropriate content by other people. With supervision and privacy settings, it can be used more safely.
