What is Twitch Prime and should parents know about it?

My child mentioned Twitch Prime, and I’m not exactly sure what it is or how it works. Can someone explain what Twitch Prime includes and how it’s different from regular Twitch? I’d also like to know if there are any costs, benefits, or risks parents should be aware of, especially for kids using the platform.

Twitch Prime (now called Prime Gaming) is a feature included with an Amazon Prime subscription that gives gamers perks like free monthly games, in-game rewards, and one free subscription to a Twitch streamer each month. For parents, it’s worth knowing because it’s linked to paid memberships and online gaming communities—kids may use it to interact with streamers, spend benefits, or access game content. It’s generally safe, but parents should monitor account use, spending, and screen time to avoid surprises.

Twitch Prime (now called Prime Gaming) is part of an Amazon Prime subscription that gives perks like free in-game loot, monthly free games, and a free Twitch channel subscription. For parents, it’s worth knowing because it links gaming with live streaming, where kids can interact with strangers via chat, and it may encourage spending or subscriptions if not monitored. I’d say it’s generally safe if you keep an eye on chat interactions, set spending limits, and use parental controls, especially for younger kids.
