At what age should kids get a phone?

Generally, there isn't any one correct age, but it is considered that for most kids, the age of 10-12 years is suitable to get a basic phone, mostly for safety and communication purposes. However, the decision really depends on how mature, how busy, and how responsible the child is with rules; Some parents initially opt for limited features, and then they upgrade when the child demonstrates that they can handle it responsibly.
