How Do Netflix Parental Controls Work?

I want to set up Netflix parental controls so my kids can only watch age-appropriate shows and movies. I’m not sure what options are available and how strict the controls really are. Can anyone explain how Netflix parental controls work and what steps I should follow to customize them for different kids?

On Netflix, parental controls let parents create Kids profiles with age-based ratings (like TV-Y or PG). You can set maturity levels, block specific titles, and add a Profile Lock PIN to prevent changes. Activity reports show what’s watched, helping parents manage safe, age-appropriate viewing easily.

On Netflix, parental controls work like this:
  • Create a Kids profile for age-appropriate content
  • Set maturity rating limits (TV-Y, PG, etc.)
  • Block specific titles manually
  • Add a Profile Lock PIN to prevent changes
  • View watching activity reports
  • Control autoplay and playback settings

Parental controls on Netflix let parents manage what kids can watch. You can create child profiles with maturity ratings, set profile PINs to prevent switching, and block specific titles. Netflix also offers a Kids experience with age-appropriate shows. Settings are managed in Account > Profile & Parental Controls and apply across devices.

On Netflix, parental controls let you manage what kids can watch and how they use the account. You can create a kids profile with age-appropriate content, set maturity ratings (like only allowing shows suitable for children), and lock profiles with a PIN so kids can’t switch to adult profiles. You can also block specific titles and turn off autoplay if needed.

Netflix parental controls allow parents to set up profiles with age limits, block individual titles, and use a PIN to access them. This will make sure that the children are not exposed to inappropriate material. At any time, parents may also view history and change settings. These filters can be used to regulate screen time and exposure to content, which when used together with oversight and dialogue make streaming safe with children.
