How do you know if someone blocked you from iMessage?

I’m trying to understand how iMessage works and whether there are signs that someone has blocked you. How do you know if someone blocked you from iMessage, and what should you look for? I’d like a simple explanation of the common indicators so I can better understand messaging behavior.

If your iMessage (blue bubble) sends but never shows the “Delivered” status underneath, it could mean you’ve been blocked. Normally, iMessage confirms delivery quickly unless something is wrong.

If your messages suddenly switch from blue (iMessage) to green (SMS), it may mean you’re blocked or the person turned off iMessage. This isn’t a guarantee, but it’s a common sign.

If the person previously had read receipts on and you suddenly stop seeing them, it might indicate you’ve been blocked—or they simply turned the feature off.

If multiple messages over several days get no reply, and combined with other signs (like no delivery status), it may suggest blocking—but it could also mean they’re busy or ignoring messages.
