Hi everyone, I want to make YouTube safer for my kids by using parental filters. I’m looking for the easiest way to block inappropriate content and control what they can watch. Can someone explain how to set it up and if it works on all devices?

To set parental filters on YouTube, parents can turn on Restricted Mode in settings to limit mature content. They can also use YouTube Kids or manage controls with Google Family Link to monitor and control what children watch

To set up parental filters on YouTube, parents can enable Restricted Mode in the app’s settings, which helps hide videos that may contain mature content. Another effective option is using YouTube Kids, a separate app designed specifically for younger viewers with stronger parental controls. Parents can also use device settings to manage screen time, block certain content, and monitor what children watch, helping create a safer and more controlled viewing environment.

The easiest way is to turn on Restricted Mode in YouTube settings or just use the YouTube Kids app. I did this for my nephew and it works well on phones, tablets, and even smart TVs if you sign in with the same account.

Here are some good YouTube parental filters. In younger children (below 13 years old), the YouTube Kids application is recommended, whereby a curated interface (age-based profile) is provided. In the case of older children. To get a fast non-synced solution, go to YouTube settings, go to the general tab, where you can see Restricted Mode, which will hide mature content.

Parents can also use YouTube Kids, which offers age-appropriate videos and controls. Additionally, set screen time and content limits through your device’s parental control settings.
