I saw someone reply with “NM” in a chat conversation, and I’m not sure what it stands for. Does NM mean “not much,” or does it have other meanings depending on the situation?

In texting, NM stands for “Not Much.” It’s commonly used as a casual response to questions like “What’s up?” or “What are you doing?” For example, if someone asks, “Hey, what’s up?” replying “NM” indicates that nothing significant is happening.

Yeah, most of the time NM means “not much.” Like if someone asks “What’s up?” and you reply “NM,” it just means nothing much is going on. It can have other meanings sometimes, but in casual chats it’s usually just that.

"Hello, nm stands for 'no mention' or 'no mention needed.' It's often used in texting to indicate that there's no need to discuss or follow up on a topic. For example, if someone asks if you're free this weekend and you say 'nm,' it means you're not interested or need more time to think about it."
