What Does the Green Dot on Snapchat Mean on My Child’s Account?

Hi everyone, I recently noticed a green dot on Snapchat next to some usernames on my child’s account, and I’m not sure what it means. Does the green dot on Snapchat indicate that someone is currently active, or does it show something else? I’m trying to better understand the app so I can guide my teen about online safety. Any clarification from experienced parents would be appreciated.

It’s just an "Activity Indicator." The green dot on Snapchat means they were active on the app recently, but not necessarily in a specific chat.

On Snapchat, a green dot is the activity indicator showing the account was recently active on the app (usually within the past few minutes to up to about 24 hours), not necessarily that your child is currently online at that exact moment. It can be turned off in privacy settings to hide this status.
