Hi everyone, I keep hearing about private browsing and I want to understand what it actually means—especially when my teen uses it on their phone or laptop. Does private browsing hide what sites someone visits? Are searches and history really not saved? I’m trying to learn how it works so I can talk to my child about online safety and boundaries. Any clear explanations or tips for parents would be really helpful!

Private browsing is a browser feature that prevents your device from saving browsing history, cookies, site data, and form information after you close the window. It works by creating a temporary session that deletes stored data once the session ends. However, it does not hide your activity from websites, your internet service provider (ISP), employer, or school network. It mainly protects privacy on your own device, especially when using shared or public computers.

I think it's great that Radarro is explaining private browsing to new users, but I'd like to add that private browsing doesn't completely eliminate the risk of tracking, especially if you're using a public Wi-Fi network or if the browser or device has vulnerabilities. In addition to private browsing, it's also essential to use a secure VPN and regularly clear browser cache and cookies to maintain maximum anonymity.

Private browsing, also known as incognito mode, is a feature that doesn't store your browsing history, cookies, or autofill data. It prevents websites from tracking your activity and hides your search history from others using the same device. However, it may not block all online tracking and your internet service provider may still monitor your activity.

Browsers like Google Chrome call it Incognito Mode, while Mozilla Firefox calls it Private Browsing. It improves local privacy, but internet providers and websites can still see your activity.

Private Browsing is a web browser mode that prevents your browsing history, cookies, and search data from being saved on your device. It works by opening a separate session where sites visited and forms filled aren’t recorded, helping protect your privacy. However, it doesn’t hide your activity from websites, ISPs, or network admins.
