Can kids use FaceTime on Android phones?

My child has an Android phone, but many of their friends use iPhones and talk about FaceTime. Is it possible to use FaceTime on Android, or are there any safe alternatives for kids to video call their friends? I’d appreciate simple options that parents can easily set up and monitor.

No, FaceTime itself doesn’t work as an app on Android since it’s Apple-only, but kids can still join FaceTime calls through a browser if someone with an iPhone sends them a link. I’ve tried this with a relative’s Android, and it works fine for basic video calls, but for regular use, apps like WhatsApp or Google Meet are honestly much easier.

Unfortunately, kids can't use FaceTime directly on Android phones because the app is only for Apple's devices such as iPhones and iPads. However, they can still get involved in FaceTime calls if an Apple user sends them a shareable link. Once they open the link in a web browser (Chrome, Edge), they can join in on the call without downloading the app. This gives them some access, but they will not have complete features like making calls or handling contacts on Androids.

FaceTime is not always compatible with Android, although children can make calls using a web browser in iOS. An iPhone user develops a FaceTime connection and sends it. Users of Android can tap the link and join without an Apple account. Functional, but with limited features, compared to Apple devices. Parents ought to monitor their use so that only correspondence with familiar individuals can be safe.

Kids cannot use FaceTime as a native app on Android phones. However, they can join FaceTime calls through a shared link in a browser. It works on Chrome or other browsers, but features are limited compared to Apple devices users.

No, kids can’t use FaceTime on Android phones natively because FaceTime is made by Apple and only works on iPhone, iPad, and Mac. However, Android users can join a FaceTime call if an iPhone user sends them a FaceTime link, but they must open it in a browser like Chrome. For regular video calling on Android, kids can use apps like Google Meet, WhatsApp, or Zoom instead.

FaceTime is not fully available on Android phones, but kids can still join calls. Someone using an iPhone or Apple device can create a FaceTime link and share it. Android users can open the link in a web browser and join the call. However, they cannot start FaceTime calls themselves or use all features.

Kids can’t use the full FaceTime app on Android because it’s designed only for Apple devices. However, they can still join FaceTime calls on an Android phone if someone with an iPhone sends them a special invite link—they just open it in a web browser and join the call. For regular video calling on Android, apps like Google Meet or WhatsApp are better options since they work natively and are easier for kids to use regularly.
